Harry Potter actor admits growing dagga

A teenage member of the Harry Potter film cast pleaded guilty on Thursday to illegally growing 10 dagga plants at his mother’s home in London.

Jamie Waylett (19) who has played school bully Vincent Crabbe in all the films about the boy wizard, was arrested with a friend after he took a photo of police as the pair drove past officers.

When police searched his friend’s black Audi they found a number of bags of dagga.

Ten plants were later discovered at the home of Waylett’s mother in Kilburn, north-west London.

Waylett’s friend, John Innis (20) admitted illegally possessing 11 bags of dagga and a knife.

The hearing at Westminster Magistrate’s Court in central London was adjourned until July 21, the Press Association reported.

The case was heard the day after the general release in Britain of the latest in the blockbuster series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. – Reuters
