Bosman back for the Proteas

Loots Bosman returns to the Proteas’ starting line-up for Friday’s first Pro20 against England at the Wanderers Stadium and will open the batting with Graeme Smith.

It will be the hard-hitting batsman’s fifth cap in this format of the game. Injury prevented him from playing in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and his last outing was against Bangladesh just over a year ago.

He has an impressive strike rate of 140 in twenty/20 and was the first player to score a century in the domestic Pro20 competition.

There will be a first cap for Ryan McLaren while Charl Langeveldt also returns to international Pro20 action. The squad also includes both specialist spinners, Johan Botha and Roelof van der Merwe.

”As indicated earlier when the squad was announced, we will be rotating our players and the intention is to give all 15 players an outing,” commented coach Mickey Arthur.

”The one possible exception is Wayne Parnell. We are monitoring his ankle on a daily basis and will be guided by our medical and fitness teams on when he will be ready to play again.”

Line-up:
Graeme Smith (capt), Loots Bosman, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Albie Morkel, Mark Boucher, Ryan McLaren, Roelof van der Merwe, Johan Botha, Dale Steyn, Charl Langeveldt. 12th man: Heino Kuhn.
