BMW Sauber has named Pedro de la Rosa as its second driver this season, joining Kamui Kobayashi.
The 38-year-old Spaniard has driven for Arrows and Jaguar and was a test and reserve driver for McLaren for seven years.
Team principal Peter Sauber said that “we as a team stand to gain from his experience, and the same goes for young Kamui.”
De la Rosa said that “I always firmly believed I would be given another chance as a team driver.”
The team last month was awarded the 13th entry into this year’s Formula One world championship, taking the place of the departing Toyota. — Sapa-AP
