South Africa have added medium-pacer Charl Langeveldt to their one-day squad for the three-match series against India later this month.
“We do not believe that we have all our bases covered at the moment in the bowling department,” selection convener Gerald Majola said in a Cricket South Africa (CSA) statement on Sunday.
“We have two major ICC tournaments coming up — first the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies and then next year’s ICC World Cup on the sub-continent — and it is important that we explore all our options,” he added.
South Africa will play one-dayers in Jaipur (February 21), Gwalior (February 24) and Ahmedabad (February 27) following the current two-Test series.
Langeveldt, 35, has played 63 one-day internationals for his country. – Reuters
