South Africa’s total industry new vehicle sales increased by 20,07% year-on-year to 43 591 units in March, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) said on Tuesday.
When stripping out sales from Associated Motor Holdings and Amalgamated Automobile Distributors — which report separately — sales rose by 14,99% to 38 293 units compared with March last year, Naamsa said.
Vehicles sales recorded the first annual increase in nearly three years in January, marking a turnaround in a sector hit by depressed demand. — Reuters
