New vehicle sales up in June

South Africa’s total industry new vehicle sales increased by 20,7% year-on-year in June to 39 931 units, the National Association of Automobile Manufactures of South Africa (Naamsa) said on Friday.

When stripping out sales from Associated Motor Holdings and Amalgamated Automobile Distributors — which report separately — sales rose by 13,1% to 33 946 units compared with June last year, Naamsa said.

Naamsa said sales were up from exceptionally depressed numbers in the corresponding period last year. — Reuters
