Joel Netshitenzhe, a former key policy-maker, has joined Nedbank as an independent non-executive director.
Netshitenzhe, who was the head of policy for nearly a decade under former president Thabo Mbeki, will add significant value to Nedbank, the company said on Thursday.
“Joel’s extensive experience in social policy, economics, politics and communications will enable him to add significant value to the group and strengthen the independent non-executive component of the board,” chairperson Reuel Khoza said.
Netshitenzhe, an architect of policy since the end of apartheid, is also a member of a national planning commission drawing up long-term economic strategy. — Reuters
