Mpumalanga minister condemns killing of ANC official

The Mpumalanga Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs said on Thursday provincial minister Madala Masuku condemned the killing of the Ehlanzeni district municipality chief whip.

“The [provincial minister] for the department, Madala Masuku, has condemned in the strongest possible terms the brutal attack and killing of Ehlanzeni district municipality chief whip, councillor Johan Ndlovu,” department spokesperson, Simphiwe Kunene, said in a statement.

The minister called on the law enforcement agents to do all they could to investigate and apprehend the “unscrupulous criminals who have no regard for human life”.

Masuku said they believed the country’s law enforcement agents would get to the bottom of the incident.

Kunene said the Masuku sent his condolences to the Ndlovu family, the Ehlanzeni district municipality and the province.

Ndlovu was shot a few kilometres from his home in the chest, left hand and buttocks in the early hours of Wednesday, Captain Leonard Hlathi said.

Ndlovu’s body was found by family members in some bush in Bushbuckridge after an unidentified man told his wife where to find him. — Sapa
