M&G is hiring: Temporary content producer

The Mail&Guardian Online is looking for someone to help upload content to the website about once a week for the months of March and April.

Key performance areas

  • Upload and publish articles and pictures from the M&G newspaper using the M&G Online content management system

  • Work the night shift (1pm to 9pm) when needed

  • Be on call and come in when needed — probably on Thursdays

    • Qualifications and experience
    Required:

    • Appropriate post-matric qualification

  • Online sub-editing experience would be a great advantage

  • A firm grasp of current affairs, both local and international

  • Net-savvy

  • An interest in education would be an advantage

    • Characteristics and competencies

    • Great attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly assimilate and apply the M&G‘s style and system

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure

  • Team player

    • Please note that this is a freelance position where the person will be called upon as needed and paid accordingly.
