? BLK JKS gigs may be thin on the ground in Johannesburg, but fans can catch the four Afro-rockers in action on other projects. Rhythm guitarist Mpumi Mcata and drummer Tshepang Ramoba have been playing with avant-garde all-rounder João Orrechia for a while and last week the three-piece wowed an audience at The Bioscope. Now comes the news that BLK JKS guitarist Linda Buthelezi and Ramoba have teamed up to form a new band, dubbed Post#. When the M&G spoke to Buthelezi last week about the band’s debut gig at the Bohemian this Saturday, he said the duo were hard at work writing music. This weekend the jury will be out.
The Bohemian, Menton Road, Richmond, June 18 from 9pm. R30 gets you in, R20 with a student card.
