Krejcir’s neighbour sues state over bungled raid

Krejcir's Neighbour Sues State Over Bungled Raid

The owner of a Johannesburg house raided by the Hawks, who mistook it for fugitive Radovan Krejcir’s property, is claiming R1.2-million in damages from the state, the New Age reported on Tuesday.

Owner Simon Guidetti told the newspaper through his lawyers that the Hawks broke his gate, cupboards and other household goods during the raid in Bedfordview in March.

“When I arrived at my house, the gate was down. My house was in a mess. The items were new and I will not settle for less. I want replacement on all damaged items.”

The elite crime-fighting unit was after Krejcir, allegedly linked to the murder of underworld boss Cyril Beeka.

Guidetti’s lawyers said he wanted to be compensated for damages and inconvenience caused. A total of R600 000 of the claim was for his accommodation at a bed and breakfast, and legal fees. — Sapa
