Genevieve Hofmeyr, partner and driving force behind Moonlighting Films, is one of South Africa’s most respected and sought after producers.
Since Moonlighting’s inception, Genevieve has fulfilled the role of producer on many of Moonlighting’s projects. Recent producing credits include Daniel Espinosa’s Safehouse for Universal Pictures; Marc Foster’s Machinegun Preacher for Lionsgate; Clint Eastwood’s Invictus for Malpaso Productions and Revelations Entertainment; Roland Emmerich’s 10000BC; Ed Zwick’s Blood Diamond for Warner Bros. Pictures; and Doomsday for Rogue Pictures, amongst others.
Projects co-produced through Moonlighting Films with Genevieve at the helm include BBC’s
Women in Love and for Universal Pictures Blue Crush 2 and Death Race 2.
South African content produced by Genevieve include Mukunda Dewil’s Retribution and Anthony Fabian’s award winning Skin.
Genevieve is hailed by the Hollywood Reporter as one of the three most influential women in South African Cinema today.
Prior to starting Moonlighting Films Genevieve line produced and production managed a number of acclaimed local and international films, as well as various documentary and television series. During this time, she worked with the likes of international companies such as New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures, as well as the best local talent at the time including Oscar winning director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi), acclaimed director Darryl Roodt and South African producer Anant Singh.
Genevieve holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English & Psychology (University of Cape Town) and an A.A.S (Associate of Applied Science Degree) from New York State University.
