The score: James Mathes and Daniel Matthee

James Mathes and Daniel Mathee have produced a score for the film that perfectly captures the drama and tension of the storyline.

Pressure Cooker Studios, which formed in 2009, is a young and fresh music studio, supported and
run by Daniel Matthee and James Matthes.

Daniel has been classically trained in piano and
saxophone. He has also studied music theory through the Royal School of Music, and has a degree from Point Blank London (Music Production and Composition).

Before joining the company Daniel wrote music for plays, short films and documentaries.

James trained in Music Production and Arrangement for Film & TV at his College in Cape Town (City Varsity) where he won the Top Student award for excellence while completing his degree.

James moves away from the classical approach to writing music by manipulating synths and adding these interesting effects to emotive orchestral themes. Before joining the company, James wrote music for short films, commercials and documentaries.

As a team, Daniel and James work together to approach scores with a fresh, unique touch in
order to achieve powerful, emotive themes that support the narrative. Trying to develop interesting new approaches to scoring is always a top priority.
