The most celebrated brand in the house

Brandhouse is the uniquely South African result of a ground-breaking joint venture between three leading regional and international alcohol beverage companies – Diageo plc, Heineken International and Namibia Breweries Ltd

Mindful of the emergence of a powerful new middle class consumer group and a growing demand for premium brands, these three giants saw an opportunity to create a new business in South Africa that would combine the best of brands, people and ways of working in order to grow faster and further than any of the individual companies could do alone

The joint venture was named Brandhouse and began trading in the South African market on 1 July 2004. All three shareholders have a publicly stated long-standing commitment to Africa.
Through our parent companies, we have a diverse portfolio of premium brands in the white spirits, brown spirits, ready-to-drink and beer categories. Top brands include Johnnie Walker, J&B, Smirnoff, Bell’s, Windhoek, Amstel, Heineken, Foundry Premium Cider, Guinness, Jose Cuervo, Bertrams and Tanqueray among others.

Our Isipingo, KZN manufacturing facility, which is part of the Diageo group, produces the world’s largest spirit brand – Smirnoff Vodka. Other local brands such as Bertrams VO, Cape Velvet Cream, and licensed manufacturing of international brands such as Captain Morgan Black Label are also part of this facility.

Brandhouse has a goal to be ‘the most celebrated company in South Africa – celebrating life everyday, everywhere”. We believe that by creating joy, power and freedom for our people, we will achieve sustained success.

We aim to be the top employer in South Africa by providing an exceptional work environment; rated the number one industry partner by our suppliers and customers; the benchmark multinational in enriching the communities we work in

This strategy has reaped huge awards for Brandhouse in winning several Deloitte Best Company To Work For awards in the past four years.
Since its creation in 2004, Brandhouse has grown dramatically from 400 employees and especially in the last year when its people count went up to over 1000 staff members. While Brandhouse has international parents, it’s very much a South Africa business with its own unique culture.
