The Mail & Guardian lost one its own this week when Wandile Mlangeni (44) passed away suddenly after a short illness.
Mlangeni had been a member of the M&G team in both full and part-time capacity and had worked as a sub-editor on the paper’s supplements.
M&G deputy editor Rapule Tabane said Mlangeni was a soft-spoken individual who focused on his work.
“He went about his work almost unnoticed, but he was reliable and not prone to be distracted by the irritation and noise of the newsroom. He will be greatly missed by the M&G family.”
Prior to joining the M&G, Mlangeni worked at City Press, Sunday Sun, Bona and Pace magazine after studying art at Funda Centre in Soweto.
The M&G team offers its deepest condolences to his wife and family.
