Wheels Within Wheels: Zuma Wives' Cars To Cost R700k

About R700 000 has been budgeted for car rentals for President Jacob Zuma’s wives in the next two years, according to a report on Monday.

The police’s protection unit would foot the bill, reported the Star newspaper.

The cost of having rental cars on stand-by for the president’s three wives was announced in the government’s tender bulletin on Friday.

Avis Rent a Car won the contract, which worked out to about R30 000 a month for the two years.

The tender documents do not specify who would use the luxury vehicles, but police spokesperson Colonel Vishnu Naidoo earlier this year said they were for Zuma’s wives. — Sapa
