Zola out on bail after dog attack on journalist

Actor and musician Bonginkosi Dlamini, known as “Zola”, was released on R1 000 bail by the Brixton magistrate’s court, according to a newspaper report on Wednesday.

Dlamini handed himself to police in Brixton, Johannesburg, on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a Sunday World journalist Ggwako Malatji and set dogs on him at the weekend.

The assault case was postponed to November 11, the Sowetan reported.

According to the report, Malatji had gone to Dlamini’s house in Melville for an interview when the alleged attack occurred.

At the house, Dlamini would not let in the accompanying photographer, who waited outside the gate.

Malatji claimed Dlamini slapped him and hit him with a chair before setting two dogs on him.

Dlamini has a reality show Rolling with Zola currently screening on Sundays on etv.

He is also known for playing “Papa Action” in “Yizo Yizo 2“, as a presenter on the television show Zola 7, and for his kwaito music. — Sapa
