Le Clos Scoops Up Four Medals

Teenager Chad le Clos stretched his lead at the top of the Swimming World Cup standings with a four-medal haul on the opening day of the Beijing leg on Tuesday.

Le Clos won three gold medals in the 400m individual medley, 200m butterfly and 100m butterfly.

In one of the closest races of the evening, the South African was pipped at the wall, finishing 0.01 seconds behind Australian Kyle Richardson to settle for silver in the 100m freestyle.

Le Clos will hope to add to his tally on Wednesday, the final day of the event, when he competes in the 100m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle races. — Sapa
