Attention matric students

The sweat and grind is over and South Africa’s matric students have completed their final schooling year. What’s next? The long wait until after the festive season to get their results.

The M&G have partnered with the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) to bring students who write those exams their results on January 4 2012.

Running for its second year, our Matric Central website allows students to access their results instantly once released. This year we have also created a mobisite so students can get their results on their phones too.

But until then we have a lot more to keep you busy — whether you write IEB exams or not.

Interview skills, tips for surviving first year plus a guide to the best universities: it’s all here.

And if you or your teen is not quite ready for university yet, we also have advice for gap years and travelling.

In addition to the matric results, the website also covers interviews with some of the students from IEB schools, who discuss their goals and plans for year 2012.

Tick tock. The countdown has begun. Be sure to check out the matric central – an M&G initiative. http://matric.mg.co.za/

The IEB is a respected assessment body with 176 examination centres. It provides assessments for learners writing the National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) examination, the major school-leaving and tertiary entrance examination in South Africa.
