India Dismissed For 269 In Tour Match

Virat Kohli top-scored with 132 as India was dismissed for 269 in its first innings on Tuesday on the second day of its three-day tour match against a Cricket Australia Chairman’s XI.

Kohli, batting number four, took control of India’s innings after the dismissals of test openers Virender Sehwag for 12 and Gautam Gambhir for 24 left India on 53-3 after it had won the toss.

He batted almost three hours, hit 18 fours and two sixes and was the eighth man out, when India was 263. Rohit Sharma made 47 from 71 balls in the only other major contribution to India’s total.

Left-arm spinner John Holland took 6 for 70 from 18.1 for the Chairman’s XI.

The match continues until Wednesday. — Sapa-AP
