Elroy Africa has resigned as the director general for cooperative governance and traditional affairs, according to a report in Beeld on Monday.
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Richard Baloyi said in a statement he was sorry Africa had resigned but it was understandable that he would want to pursue other interests after such a long period in the post.
He had been an official in the department for 13 years.
Democratic Alliance MP Marti Wenger expressed shock that Parliament’s portfolio committee was not informed of the resignation. — Sapa
