An unnamed Durban lawyer bought the house in an auction on Monday after Prince Mmelizwe Dlamini allegedly failed to pay his monthly bond of R30 000, the Mercury reported.

Dlamini, who reportedly owed more than R3-million on the luxury house, tried to prevent the sale last week.

He is awaiting a decision by the Commission on Traditional Leadership Disputes and Claims on his assertion that he should be entitled to the same powers as Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini.

The new owner of the house will have to pay the outstanding rates on the property which amount to R339 000.

It was not clear when Dlamini would move out of the house, as the buyer was not guaranteed vacant occupation. – Sapa
