Theresa Prince of Nelson Mandela Bay has been appointed one of the umpires for the Test series between the world's top netball countries, world champions Australia and runners-up New Zealand, in September.

"I am honoured that I can add value to world and South African netball through this invitation," said Prince after the announcement was made.

Annie Kloppers of Stellenbosch will officiate in the Quad Series involving Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa in October and November.

Prince and Kloppers both officiated at the Netball World Championships in Singapore last year.

"The invitation to Theresa and Annie to officiate at such high-profile matches shows that the world is beginning to recognise the potential of South African umpires," said Netball South Africa's director of umpires, Hannette Brewer.

"We need more exposure for our umpires so we can be on the same level as Australia and New Zealand … We are very proud of our international umpires, who have both umpired in international finals – Annie at the last Under21 World Cup and Theresa in the Fast Net final last year." – Sapa
