As reaction grows we wanted to give our readers an opportunity to pose their questions about the story.
Readers went here to submit questions and vote on existing questions.
The M&G's Verashni Pillay put tweets, comments and questions to De Wet in a live streaming video chat on Friday August 10 between 11.30am and noon.
De Wet was one of the reporters who broke the story, along with Matuma Letsoalo and Jonathan Erasmus.
We took a look at your questions and comments posted throughout the week, as well as input posted on our various platforms during the live discussion.
This was the M&G's first Google Hangout. Learn more about Hangouts here and read the Zumaville story here.
