Uhuru Moiloa was appointed as the legislature's new deputy speaker, replacing Stewart Ngwenya, who had resigned, Maseko said on Tuesday.
Moiloa, a former chairperson of committees, was nominated and appointed unopposed during the legislature sitting.
Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, the former chairperson of the portfolio committee on roads and transport, was nominated and appointed as chairperson of committees, to replace Moiloa.
Last month, Premier Nomvula Mokonyane reshuffled her provincial executive council after provincial local government and housing minister Humphrey Mmemezi resigned.
Mmemezi quit after an integrity commission report presented to the Gauteng Legislature found him guilty of contravening the province's code of conduct and ethics.
Former provincial health minister Ntombi Mekgwe took over from Mmemezi.
Number of resignations
Hope Papo was appointed the new provincial health minister and Nkosiphendule Kolisile took over economic development.
Former provincial economic development minister Qedani Mahlangu became infrastructure development minister.
Outgoing infrastructure development minister Bheki Nkosi was appointed the new head of the Gauteng gambling board.
On Tuesday, Maseko said because of the reshuffle and a number of resignations, new committee chairs had been appointed.
The portfolio committee on social development had also been re-established.
Former education committee chairperson Mamonare Chueu was appointed as the new chairperson of social development.
Reshuffle
Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, former chairperson of the standing committee on community safety, would take over from Chueu as chairperson of the portfolio committee on education.
Chairperson of the standing committee on petitions Jacob Khawe was appointed new chairperson of the standing committee on community safety.
Former chairperson for gender youth and persons with disabilities Lindiwe Lasindwa was now the chairperson of a standing committee on petitions.
Thuliswa Nkabinde was appointed new chairperson of the portfolio committee on roads and transport.
Maseko said the reshuffle was done in terms of rule 172 of the standing rules of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, which allowed the speaker to appoint and restructure committee membership. – Sapa
