Lieutenant colonel Katlego Mogale said the body of Holland (64) was found by her gardener at 10.10am on Saturday at her home in Melville.
The gardener called police to the scene. Mogale said nothing was found to be stolen or missing.
Holland had spent her career as a journalist and columnist. She published a book on the life and career of Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe in 2008 entitled Dinner with Mugabe. – Sapa
