The HR strategy is to ensure that all people processes are aligned with ensuring that MTN becomes a leader in converged ICT offerings. The following people strategies are utilised to realise the main organisational goal:

Organisation: the structure, job roles and reporting lines of the organisation;
People: the skill levels, staff potential and management capability;
Human resources systems: the people-focused mechanisms that deliver the strategy – employee selection, communications, training, rewards, career development, and so on.
