Witness places Mdluli ally at murder scene

Dlomo is a known ally of suspended crime intelligence head Richard Mdluli. He is one of the four men who may face criminal charges, pending the finalisation of the inquest related to the death of Ramogibe. Ntswaki Ditsego told the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court that she was in her yard at approximately 2pm on the day that Ramogibe was killed when she saw Dlomo lying on the ground diagonally across the street with his arms outstretched. Just ahead of him, she saw two other men in casual clothing pushing around another man who was just in front of them. “They pushed him against the wall and shot at him,” she told the court. She ran into the house and heard more gunfire. Later that same day, she went to a neighbour’s house and saw her in the presence of Dlomo. Not convinced Ditsego asked Dlomo what had happened and Dlomo told her he had his gun stolen in a mugging and subsequently ran to the corner tuck shop for back up. Defence lawyer Paul Leisher was not convinced that Ditsego was telling the truth because her statement made no reference to Ramogibe being pushed against a wall and shot at. “Ma’am, where are you getting that story? It’s not in your statement … Are you guessing now?” said Leisher. Ditsego repeatedly refused to answer questions posed to her by Leisher. However, she eventually admitted that she did not actually see Ramogibe being shot, she merely heard gunshots. Ditsego also contradicted herself when she said she did not see three uniformed policemen running from the scene, whereas her statement said she had. Attempts to get further clarity from Ditsego after her testimony were not successful. The inquest continues.
