Although his position is not thought to be under threat, Mosimane speculated his five-year contract could be broken at any time.
The Brazilians finished in 10th position on the log.
Mosimane said his contract with Sundowns was just a piece of paper.
"Contracts are contracts," Mosimane said on Monday.
"You can sign a 10-year contract. A contract is a document we honour and we don't honour, okay? A contract doesn't mean anything."
Sundowns' president Patrice Motsepe is well-known for wielding the axe for coaches, and Mosimane is the 14th mentor since 2003.
Mosimane, the former Bafana Bafana coach, cited the contract he had with the national team before he was relieved of duty in June 2012.
"You know the contract I had at Bafana. To be honest, I don't believe in documents," he said.
"I think we should just coach, if I go, I go. If I stay, I stay. We, as coaches, we leave and we don't honour them, and the clubs don't honour them."
'Pirates and Chiefs have got R1bn'
In his bid to claim some much-needed silverware for Sundowns, Mosimane said it would be difficult to match the signings of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in the off-season.
He would also not confirm which players he was targeting.
"I would love to reveal names, but then the next team that goes there will start bidding, and we will be bidding against each other."
Mosimane went on to say how much money Chiefs and Pirates had at their disposal.
"A lot of teams have money. Pirates and Chiefs have got R1-billion from SAB [South African Breweries]. They are sharing a billion."
Chiefs' success in claiming league honours was largely down to their big names in their lineup, according to Mosimane.
"Look at what Chiefs did. They just bought the whole of Bafana Bafana and they won the league. From [Itumeleng] Khune to [Bernard] Parker, to [Eric] Mathoho to [Tefu] Mashamaite to Morgan Gould, Yeye [Reneilwe Letsholonyane], Shabba [Siphiwe Tshabalala], [Lehlohonolo] Majoro.
