No Bad Blood After Pec Disbandment, Says Limpopo Ancyl

"Our members should emulate us by welcoming the decision, even when they might feel it as prejudice," the provincial executive committee (PEC) said in a statement on Tuesday.

"One day reality will feature and it will be the branches that will have [the] upper hand in deciding who gets to be elected where, based on capacity and thorough understanding of the congress movement."

The PEC asked its members to support and respect the provincial task team which would be appointed to run the province in due course.

The PEC would be "vindicated" by organisational processes.

The ANC Youth League's task team announced on Monday it had disbanded four provincial PECs – Limpopo, Free State, North West, and Northern Cape.

This came after the task team visited the provinces to assess the youth league's structures.

Task team convenor Mzwandile Masina told reporters on Monday the youth league was in its weakest state since its national executive committee was disbanded earlier this year.

"We have to come to a conclusion that some drastic measures need to be taken," he said.
