Further arrests are possible following the discovery of a man's decomposing body in the boot of a car, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

"There is a possibility we may arrest further suspects," said Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.

He said he could not release any further information.

Former stripper Maruschka Robinson (24) was arrested earlier this week and appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with the man's death.

Her next court appearance will be on October 2. She remained in police custody.

She was arrested after the decomposing body of a man was found in the boot of a car at Montecasino in Fourways, north of Johannesburg, Dlamini said on Monday.

The dead body
"It was found [on Sunday] around 1pm by security guards on patrol. They were drawn [to investigate] by the smell coming out of the car," he said at the time.

Police were called and they opened the car's boot, where the body was found. A check on the car's registration number showed that the car had not been reported stolen.

The Star newspaper reported on Thursday that the body was that of 36-year-old Dustan Blom. It said that he had lost his wife, Talita, earlier this year after she gave birth to their twins.

The twins were currently in the care of Talita's family. – Sapa
