A family spokesperson announced that Bridget Oppenheimer died in her sleep on Wednesday, reported the Business Day.

Bridget was married to Harry Oppenheimer, a prominent businessperson who was also one of the world's richest men. Sir Harry died in 2000.

"Harry was South Africa’s foremost industrialist for nearly 40 years, and the last of the latter-day 'Randlords'," read the report.

According to the newspaper, her children – former De Beers chairperson Nicky Oppenheimer and Mary Slack – said: "Our mother had a long and full life. We celebrate her and her many achievements in so many fields. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
