Not a single bidder showed up for the auction of Mandla Mandela's cattle in Mvezo, in the Eastern Cape, the Saturday Star reported.

Mandla is the grandson of former president Nelson Mandela.

According to the newspaper, 50 of his cattle were to be auctioned on Friday to accumulate funds for him to pay his lawyer Randall Titus.

Mandla Mandela owes Titus around R500 000 in legal fees after he assisted him with his divorce case.

Titus obtained a judgment against Mandela in September, leading to the auction being advertised in newspapers.

Steps to recover money
Titus told the publication that no one even attended the auction to watch the proceedings.

He said while he was informed that Mandela did not have any other assets that could be sold in execution, he would take further steps to recover the money.
