Two of the five people accused of attempting to murder investigators in the Radovan Krejcir case will apply for bail, the Alexandra Regional Court heard on Monday.
The bail applications of Sergeant Nandi Nkosi and Zoe Biyela would be heard on January 31, Magistrate Renier Boshoff said.
They would appear with their co-accused Siboniso Miya, Owen Serrero and Jacob Nare on February 18.
They are charged with conspiracy to murder, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of unlicensed ammunition, possession of stolen vehicles, and theft.
The court heard on Monday that Miya was not prepared to eat the food he was being served in custody, but the reason for this was not given.
The accused, barring Nkosi, were arrested earlier this month when police pounced on them as they were allegedly plotting to kill forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan and crime intelligence officer Colonel Nkosana "Killer" Ximba.
Kidnap and assault
Nkosi (34) employed in the police's crime intelligence unit, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly providing software to track the investigators. Nine cellphones were confiscated from her.
Miya has also been linked to the kidnapping and attempted murder case for which Czech fugitive Krejcir is being investigated.
In this case, to be heard in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Friday, Miya will appear with Krejcir, Sandton businessperson Desai Luphondo, and two members of the Hawks – Warrant Officers Samuel Modise Maropeng and George Jeff Nthoroane.
Krejcir, Luphondo, Maropeng and Nthoroane were arrested in November.
In June, the men allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a man whose brother, known only as "Doctor", disappeared with a 25kg shipment of tik he had been recruited to help smuggle through OR Tambo International Airport.
They allegedly kept the man at Krejcir's Money Point business in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, for four days, and assaulted him. – Sapa
