The annual Bassline Africa Day concert takes place on Saturday May 24 at the Bassline in Newtown, Johannesburg.
With support from the French Institute of South Africa (Ifas), this year’s concert line-up includes musician Vusi Mahlasela and the Ethiopian Jazz of Akale Wube, hip-hop artists Tumi and Reason, and West African rapper Smarty.
The Bassline Africa Day concert celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, while the Bassline marks its 20th – making it one of the longest-running live music venues in South Africa.
The venue has recently “refreshed” its sound equipment and décor, and will be re-launching this in combination with the Bassline Africa Day concert this year.
