Fond Farewell At Heritage Day Celebrations

The City of Mangaung, together with the University of Free State and Lyndi Fourie Association International, recently hosted the Freedom — Our Responsibility International Conference in Bloemfontein. The conference, which attracted 60 speakers and over 200 delegates from around the world, sought to provide a platform for pioneers and leaders to present and share ideas, experiences and practical models which promote freedom, peace and prosperity to communities, thus contributing to the vision of a new culture.

As South Africa’s Heritage Month celebrations came to end on September 30, the executive mayor hosted the Mangaung Heritage Gala in celebration of South Africa’s rich diversity and tradition.

The gala coincided with the executive mayor’s farewell ceremony for Chris Mepha, who retired on September 30 as the Free State provincial officer for the Independent Electoral Commission.
