The University of the Witwatersrand has agreed to insourcing in principle, the university said on Sunday.
This followed two days of engagement with the representatives of outsourced workers and students, Wits said in a statement issued by Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib’s office.
The university said it had agreed to the following:
“The university is of the view that through engagement with various stakeholder groups, we have reached a point of unification that will allow the university to return to normality with a focus on the examinations for the remainder of the year,” the statement said.
