It's that time of the year again - get your nominations in now for the Mail & Guardian's top 200 young South Africans.
It's that time of the year again - get your nominations in now for the Mail & Guardian's top 200 young South Africans.

Every year, the Mail & Guardian scours the country to find noteworthy and newsworthy young South Africans to profile in its annual 200 Young South Africans publication.

In its 11th year, the list has become the country’s most celebrated hallmark of the up-and-coming generation, a who’s who of young people at the top of their field in 10 categories.

This year, we have added a new category for school-going youngsters, making the final list of categories as follows:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Business & Law
  • Civil society
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Media & Film
  • Politics & Government
  • Science & Technology
  • Sport
  • Rising Stars (special category for school-going youngsters)

A list of this nature is only as good as the research and support behind it, which is why the M&G is once again calling for nominations to be sent in by the public to assist our editorial team, who will then make the final selection.

This is your chance to nominate a candidate.

Your nominees must be 35 and under. They do not need to be South African citizens or born in South Africa. They do, however, need to be residing in and committed to this country.

They need to be people who are making a difference in their field or in their communities or in both.

All nominations will be considered and, should your nomination be successful, the research team will contact your nominee directly.

Nominations closed on Monday March 11 2016.

Young South Africans: Rising Stars

Each year during the nomination process the editorial team comes across some amazing people who, even though they are still at school, have achieved amazing things.

To better showcase these young South Africans we introduced a special Rising Stars category last year.

To qualify the nominee needs to be in primary or high school in South Africa.

Nominations closed on Monday March 11 2016.
