ART

  • That Art Fair, The Palms Decor and Lifestyle Centre, Woodstock, Cape Town, until March 6. On for one more weekend, this Cape Town event features Nigerian protest artist Bob-Nosa Uwagboe, who says of his work: “The poor leadership in Africa and high level of inhumane practices among men has become my primary subject which I interpret with art, either offensively or defensively. My art is a puzzle, magical and consuming to my viewers.” His 2015 work, Floating Dead Bodies, which deals with the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean, will be on show. thatartfair.com
  • Zander Blom, Stevenson, Buchanan Building, 160 Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock, Cape Town, until April 9. Blom shows new paintings, of which he says: “I have tended to favour an experimental practice instead of simply rendering clearly formed ideas on to canvas. I initially tried to do the latter, but the results were never as interesting as when I let the paint do what it wanted. So in a way I’ve followed the medium instead of trying to make it follow me.” Walkabout on March 4 at noon. stevenson.info
