Four SABC journalists who were either suspended or faced charges last month have been fired, one of them confirmed on Monday.

The four are Foeta Krige, Suna Venter, Krivani Pillay and Jacques Steenkamp.

The four are part of a group of eight journalists who rejected various censorial editorial policies implemented at the public broadcaster. The journalists are commonly referred to as the #SABC8 on social media – Twitter in particular.

“We will fight this at the highest court. The SABC management clearly does not listen to reason,” Venter told News24
