Unpacking NMMU Business School Amba accreditation

Association of MBA (Amba) accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best MBA programmes. The formal decision to apply for international Amba accreditation was taken by the NMMU Business School and approved by the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. The decision expresses the university’s strategy to open NMMU’s continual processes of self-assessment and improvement for all programmes to external review. In readiness for International Amba accreditation, the business school focused a dedicated team on the MBA programme, examining progress in all aspects of operations as these relate to the MBA programme and alignment to the business school’s vision, mission and strategic priorities.

Amba’s rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest calibre programmes that demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation. As such, NMMU Business School has successfully satisfied the aforementioned criteria. In fact, this accreditation puts NMMU Business School among the top 2% of business schools internationally with Amba Accreditation.

NMMU Business School is the first in South Africa to receive an official “green” design rating accreditation from the Green Building Council of South Africa for a public and education building. As such, the NMMU Business School is a Four Green Star rated business school.

The NMMU Business School is a pioneering new business school that is global in its vision and African in its identity. Being alive to our context we embrace possibilities, never standing still and nurturing leaders for tomorrow.
