The Gupta family seemingly spared no expense to ensure their business partner, and the president’s son, Duduzane Zuma rang the wedding bells in style.

This morning, the Times has detailed how Gupta-owned companies footed the bill for some of the expenses of the 2015 ceremony.

Documents show that these include Sahara shelling out R500 000 for a floating stage in the pool of the venue – the Fairmont Hotel in Zimbali – as well as some the lighting at the event.

In addition, a rented full-glass marquee was billed to a Gupta-owned company at a cost of about R700 000.

The Times reports that various Gupta associates and attorneys were brought in to handle various stages of the event planning and transactions. Noticeable among them are Oakbay acting chief executive Ronica Ragavan and Sahara chief executive Ashu Chawla.

This is one of the latest revelation that has emerged from the explosive Gupta emails revealed by the Sunday Times and City Press.

On Tuesday it was revealed that the Guptas helped Duduzane Zuma purchase a luxury apartment in Dubai worth R18-million in 2015.

This transaction, Times Media Group reported, occurred mere months before a letter was circulated in which the Zumas seemingly sought residency in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The apartment in question is in the Burj Khalifa – the tallest skyscraper in the world at 828.8m.
