The theme for 2019’s State of the Nation Address (Sona) address was: “Following up on our commitments — making your future work better”.

President Cyril Ramaphosa, in his address, spoke to the nation on the general state of South Africa, reflected on a wide range of political, economic and social matters within the domestic and global contexts and accounted to the nation on the work of government. Ramaphosa also set out the government’s program of action for the coming year.
