Power utility has 4 588MW on planned maintenance, while another 16 142MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns

After barely two days of a reprieve, Eskom said on Monday it was bringing back rotational power cuts from 5pm to 10 pm because the electricity system was severely constrained.

The announcement came a few hours after Eskom said Phillip Dukashe, its head of generation, had quit after serving permanently in the position for only a year.
