United States overseer in Iraq Paul Bremer vowed on Thursday that the grisly killing of four civilian contractors will ”not go unpunished”, amid reactions of horror at images of the burning and dismemberment of the Americans. Bremer said the four, along with five US troops killed in the same area west of Baghdad, ”have not died in vain”.
Astronomers using the Anglo-Australian telescope in outback Australia announced on Thursday the discovery of more than 40 previously unknown ”dwarf” galaxies in a constellation ”on Earth’s doorstep”. The team of 12 scientists from five countries found the objects hidden in the nearby Fornax cluster of galaxies.

Freedom Front Western Cape leader Corne Mulder is suing the Democratic Alliance’s provincial election coordinator, Robin Carlisle, and his party in the Cape High Court for damages to the amount of R250Â 000. The damages are being sought for alleged slander and damage to Mulder’s reputation.
