British nutrition guru Patrick Holford, currently touring South Africa, says he has no links to the Dr Rath Health Foundation and does not advise people to stop taking antiretrovirals (ARVs). He has also denied news reports that, he said, implied he had been saying vitamin C was more effective in treating Aids than the ARV AZT.

The South African Revenue Service has served African National Congress deputy president Jacob Zuma with a summons after he apparently failed to submit his tax return, the Sunday Independent reported. According to the Independent, Zuma’s attorney Michael Hulley collected the summons from the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Andre Pretorius landed a last-minute penalty goal as the Lions edged the Western Force 25-24 in a Super 14 rugby match on Saturday to collect their first win in Australia. The collapse of two ice shelves in Antarctica has exposed an exquisite seabed ecosystem, including species of crustaceans and marine anemones that had never before been identified, researchers said on Sunday. The insight into this hidden marine world came from the break-up of the Larsen A and B ice shelves, 12 and five years ago respectively.
