La Parada, celebrated for its infusion of Spanish flavours into a delightful culinary adventure, is excited to announce the grand opening of its 10th restaurant in Gauteng and 15th in South Africa. La Parada Melrose Arch welcomed its guests on Thursday 5 October. This new addition to our collection marks a harmonious blend of La Parada’s distinctive brand and the vibrant, exclusive atmosphere of Melrose Arch. Here, we bring a sophisticated dining experience that captures the essence of Spanish culture intertwined with a unique South African touch.
Where it all began
La Parada’s journey started on Cape Town’s Bree Street, the city’s culinary hotspot, in 2013. Swiftly gaining acclaim for its signature Spanish-inspired cuisine, sophisticated beverages, and inviting ambiance, the legacy expanded to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban.
What to Expect
“We chose Melrose Arch for our 10th Gauteng venture due to its vibrant energy, uniqueness, and perfect alignment with our brand,” says Jolene Strydom, Head of Marketing at Life and Brand Portfolio. Guests can indulge in a choice of three seating areas: inside, where La Parada’s true flair and ambiance come to life; outside, a fusion of Melrose Arch and La Parada’s charm; and upstairs, the Flamenco Lounge. “The lounge is reminiscent of traditional Spanish Whiskey Lounges, infused with the essence of La Parada,” adds Strydom.
The menu caters to casual diners seeking a shared tapas-style experience with Spanish undertones and a South African influence, a hallmark of La Parada’s fame. Explore a menu featuring traditional delights like Spanish pizzas, tapas, churros, as well as innovative modern dishes. “This delectable cuisine is complemented by an extensive cocktail menu offering classic and contemporary cocktails expertly crafted by our mixologists,” continues Strydom.
Grand opening weekend
To mark the grand opening of La Parada Melrose Arch, an array of performances and activities was held from Thursday 5 October, to Sunday 8 October.
