Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ard Matthews kicks the series off on 6 and 7 February
Indulge in a unique culinary series, “David & Friends,” featuring the renowned South African Chef David Higgs, known for his acclaimed restaurants such as Saint, Marble, Zioux and Pantry. Join David and his close-knit circle of friends, including musical artists and celebrity chefs, as they weave a captivating tapestry of life experiences, musical interludes, and tales of artistic brilliance.
The series kicks off with Ard Matthews on 6 and 7 February 2024. Matthews, a seasoned singer and songwriter, has spent the last decade connecting with audiences through his music and leading the South African band, Just Jinjer. His journey includes steering the band to unprecedented success with their debut LP All Comes Round, South Africa’s best-selling rock album.
Guests can anticipate an intimate dinner with Matthews, where stories and laughter will be shared in abundance.
About Zioux
David Higgs commenced his culinary journey in 1990, garnered experience at top-notch restaurants, trained under world-class chefs and participated in prestigious culinary competitions. He later founded The Higgs School of Good Cooking, taking charge of Leinster Hall and joining Meerendal wine farm in 2004, where he established the farm’s food and beverage outlets.
In collaboration with Jean Engelbrecht, Higgs opened a fine dining gem on the historic Rust en Vrede wine estate in 2007. Subsequently, in 2016, Marble restaurant in Johannesburg emerged, followed by Saint in Sandton in 2018, Zioux in 2021, and the recent addition of the luxury 24-hour convenience store, Pantry.
