The three levels of government should work together to ensure better coordination in the formulation and implementation of policies, President Thabo Mbeki said on Friday. The president was speaking in Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal at a sitting of the National Council of Provinces .
A man accused of killing a woman and cooking her body parts has died from possible gastroenteritis although a case of murder has been opened, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday. Superintendent Jay Naicker said Elvis Matenjwa died in the Ngwelezan hospital on September 27. He was apparently admitted on September 22 suffering from gastroenteritis.

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday rejected the call by Inkatha Freedom Party leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi for a firmer grip on the leverage of power in the province. ”The polarisation of KwaZulu-Natal politics into two camps is a distressing and harmful development,” said an ACDP spokesperson.
The cause of Saturday’s fire at the Empangeni Road Traffic Inspectorate was arson, the KwaZulu-Natal department of transport has confirmed.
