Mugabe rounds on critics, silent on poll

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe came out fighting on Friday in his first major speech since disputed polls, fending off criticism over his rights record and accusing Britain of stirring up unrest. But Mugabe did not speak about the outcome of the March 29 presidential elections, the results of which are still to be announced.

Norway to help SA ‘score green’ in 2010

The Norwegian government will help South Africa and the City of Johannesburg ensure it has a ”green 2010 Soccer World Cup”. This was announced on Thursday by Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg at Soccer City in Johannesburg, the venue for both the opening ceremony and the final match of the 2010 tournament.
